Weobley Castle, Gower, South Wales
Artist's Catalogue No: 1062
Watercolour & gouache on paper
Image size 49.2 x 72.1 cms
£11,500
Note from the Artist: Weobley Castle stands on the north side of the Gower peninsula in south Wales. Although I like to paint castles I sometimes do so from some distance away, because the siting of the castle in the landscape is often as interesting as the building itself.

Carew Castle and Mill, west Wales
Artist's Catalogue No: 1061
Watercolour & gouache on paper
Image size 24.1 x 34.2 cms
£3,175
Note from the Artist: Carew Castle is a splendid medieval fortress, begun in the late 12th century, but mostly constructed between 1270 and 1320, the high point of castle building in Wales. Between 1558 and 1592, during the reign of Elizabeth I, the north side of the castle was "modernised" in the latest Elizabethan style, with large windows and a long gallery on the top floor. It is that part that is shown on the left here.
