Cannon bollards, Clovelly

A stone corbel in the V&A Museum

Artist's Catalogue No: 36

Watercolour on paper

Image size 24.1 x 20.3 cms

Offered for sale unframed for £150

Note from the Artist: In 1968/69, between school and university, I lived and worked for several months in London. The Victoria and Albert Museum was within walking distance, and I made a number of paintings and drawings there. The Museum had a policy of encouraging artists, providing chairs and help from the staff, for which I have always been extremely grateful. It was a wonderful place to practise painting and drawing.

The painting is of a corbel from an unidentified building. The museum label read "Sandstone, English, school of Herefordshire, middle of the 12th century".

I made the painting in 1969, and sold it in 1974. In 2017 I was contacted by the original purchasers who have now decided to sell it, so it is offered for resale here.

If you would like to discuss purchasing this work please telephone the artist on 01653 628331 quoting the Artist's Catalogue No. 36. Alternatively please use the button below if you are 100% committed to purchasing this painting.
